THE WEDDING - thank you cards x 165 oh my goodness!
Hello one and all, just a quick post today to upload the wedding thank you cards from Gill's wedding last month.
The mother of the bride provided me with a photograph whilst the newlyweds were away in the Far East on honeymoon. So I softened the edges of the photo and virtually chomped two corners on opposite sides and created borders using Smartdraw and Photoshop. I think they worked well. Then I cut them on A5 so it created an A6 card which is plenty big enough for thank you's. The tiny thank you stamp on the bottom right hand corner is a Mary Hughes handwriting design stamp and the Love and Hugs inside is a Design Objectives Ltd. Neither were expensive stamps, the thank you was in a bargain bucket and the love and hugs was 4.99 and I picked it up at Hobbys and Handicrafts at SECC last year, thinking it was ideal for valentine cards.
I used my favourite gadget this wee, my cricut expression to cut the envelope from single sided silver pearlescent paper and used proper envelope gum which isnt like me cos I favour fingerlift tape.
Anyway here are the pictures and I am now off to play with my new cricut cartridge 'wild card'.
watch this space for my little 40th card coming up and a little playing with clear stamps from elzybells.
Have a great weekend everyone.

birthday invitations for the wild child who is 3
Well today the lull is well and truly over. My daughter and I have spent the day making birthday invitations for my youngest son who is going to be 3. Adam is our little bundle of mischief.
So here is what we came up with for a birthday invitation. We call him Mr trouble so these stamps just summed him up in a nutshell. The little boy stamp is a front a back designed to go together and are made by Art Impressions in Oregon USA. The stamp number is Q1524_back and Q1524_front for anyone who is interested :o). The Trouble stamp is a SMIRK design. We coloured the cute little guys with Promarkers, my daughter draws manga characters and so she already had all the flesh and skin tones and a few vibrant colours for clothes etc. I buy all our Promarkers from Cowling and Wilcox the art shop in Shore Ditch in London. There is nothing I like better than a good rummage around an art shop when I go to London (and C & W have 3) but they also have a website and my laptop knows its own way to the site ahaha (http://www.cowlingandwilcox.com/). The inks I used were a black versamark and a teal anna griffin pad that came in a kit I bought some time ago on a 'shopping channel'. The teal one was still in the wrapper shame on me!
Anyway hope you like what we have done, we made 55 of them today, quite the little production line going even if I do say so myself.
This is the front. The top section is the fold as it is a pockelope design. The lower half is tucked under and holds the party details on its reverse side.

A pic of them all together
This is the back of the invitation and really the stamp was ideal so that it wasnt left completely blank and so a bit bare. I used the Tim Holtz ink smudging sponge to tease a bit of the teal ink onto the back of this so that there was a hint of the same blue ink that says Trouble.
Ok its late (0119hrsGMT) and Im off to bed, happy but tired. Job Done woohoo!

well the wedding was yesterday and now there is a lull.
Here are some final pictures of the wedding bits n bobs. The fascinator we made for the evening after the bride took her very very long veil off. Then there are the photos of the tables and room after it was decorated with the things I have made over the last few months. The place cards with the roses, the rose cone towers as tabe centres, the little favour cards to say they were making a donation to the Alzheimers Society, the table numbers and the top table decorations which were roseballs on dowels in a vase to look like a topiary tree. The final photos are the decorations I did at their house this morning for them coming home. They were staying at their own house tonight and leaving for honeymoon tomorrow lucky sods. Anyway Ill hush now and put the photos on for everyone to see.
Please do leave comments on what you think of the decorations and the layout, I love to hear how these things are received.

This is a quick collage I made of the things Ive done so far for this wedding in July 2010. Im quite excited so I am sure the bride must be having kittens. Now I can see everything coming together and the invitations are going out today I am on the home straight with the preparations. All the rose towers are done and the table plan is almost finished, the order of service and the menus are all complete. The place cards are done and the rsvps are all in the invites ready to be posted, and I made a tiny gift list heart from a punch I had in the craft room so I didnt need to amend the invite to hold details of the gift list in a well known department store. Ah well lets just hope the brides big day goes as smoothly as all the preparations have :o) I cannot believe I made almost three thousand paper roses to go on the twelve towers we finally made and then another 120 for place cards. Origami roses are now bottom of my list for cards for at least the next few months until the blisters on my fingers heal :OP
